Did you notice? Protection Services has a new uniform!
You will quickly notice that our members are now wearing external style body armor. Protection Services have worn body armor vests for several years now; however, they were always worn internally (under the uniform shirts). On August 24th, this new style came into effect as a result of the introduction of a new provincial legislation (Bill 159). Protection Services falls under this legislation, therefore, we had to abide by its legal requirements. In keeping with current times of resource optimization, the external style body armor vest ended up being the most cost effective solution: The required branding only needed to be placed on the vesting and not on every shirt.
The noticeable changes from our previous uniform are the addition of:
- the institutional name and logo of the organization that we represent;
- the words SÉCURITÉ / SECURITY on the front and back of the uniform;
- the name tag.
