Once a year, Protection Services organizes a safety walk to check out the physical security of the University of Ottawa’s campuses. All members of the University community (students, professors and employees) are invited, on a designated evening, to walk through the campuses identifying weaknesses in infrastructures: lack of lighting, isolated areas, bushes where an aggressor could hide or drag his or her victim, etc.
Feedback from all participants is needed to make this walk a success. The recommendations are forwarded to the services responsible (e.g. Physical Resources) so that they can correct the problems identified.
